10 Invisible Things to Help Clients
Last week we brought the company together for a long afternoon and thought about how we create value to our customers and what our customers expect from us. The technical aspect is clear - we are there to develop good software. However, developing good software requires a bunch of soft skills that are invisible in the CV.
Everyone reflected on their own experiences and presented their insights to the whole group. Together we identified the following 10 invisible things to help our clients:
Be honest.
Be nice, relax.
Care about the customer and the project.
Communicate openly.
Be proactive and opinionated.
Help the team to become better.
Challenge but be able to commit to chosen practices and direction.
Deliver what you promise, don’t promise what you cannot deliver.
Bring value also other than coding.
Find your role in the project.
What we found delightful was our people’s commitment to helping our customers and really caring about the projects they are doing. This is the attitude we want to cherish and maintain.
Many of the points presented may sound obvious. But making them work requires integrity, self-confidence, various skills and a supporting company culture that enhances the right things. We are happy where we are now, but we will also be better in the future.
